1. How long have you been playing the drums and who taught you?
I’ve been playing the snare drum since 2018 and was taught by drum sergeant, and cousin, Kenny Walker.
2. Favourite tune(s) that the band plays?
Some of my favourite tunes that we play are the hornpipes Oviedo, Moonshine, Il Paco Grande, Sandy’s New Chanter and the jigs Thunderhead and Calliope House.
3. Favourite trip or gig you’ve played with the band?
My favourite trip with the band so far was going to Nuremberg in 2020. It was my first gig abroad and as well as being able to play with the band I was given the opportunity to play the piano there too.
4. Most memorable pipe band moment?
My most memorable moment with the band was at the mart concert in Rothbury when I forgot my drum harness and had to run back to our caravan to get it! It wasn’t too far away but I only made it back to the mart about 5 seconds before we went on to play.
5. What is your favourite thing about being in the band? My favourite thing about being in the band is just being able to bring and play good music to a variety of places across Scotland and abroad.
