My favourite tunes that the band plays is the hornpipe and jig set with the tunes Cragside, Nelson Mandela’s Welcome to Glasgow and Thunderhead.
3. Favourite tune(s) that the band does not play?
Since I absolutely love Spanish Gaita music, my favourite tune that the band doesn’t play is Muiñeira de Chantada.
4. Favourite trip or gig you’ve played with the band?
I can’t decide what my favourite pipe band trip is but it is between my first ever trip which would have been Strakonice, Czech in 2006 and the year I went to Japan which was 2012.
5. Most memorable pipe band moment?
The most memorable moment in the band has to be when we were in Algeria on a trip. My sister Carly had a few too many refreshments and while on the bus on the way back to the hotel she was sick all over Drew’s kilt!
6. What is the funniest moment while being in the band? The funniest moment while being in the band has to be when we were in Japan. After the festival that we were playing at in Hakuba finished, we made our way back to Tokyo. After going out for dinner a few of us thought it would be a great laugh to go to a karaoke bar to have a sing song although it turns out that it wasn’t an ordinary karaoke bar. What we walked into was some sort of karaoke brothel or something as there wasn’t much singing being done in the other booths…if you know what I’m saying!
7. What is your favourite thing about being in the band? The best thing about being in the band has to be travelling the world and meeting the most amazing people from other countries.
